Case Study 04

Replacing a SaaS with something they own.

Poole Marketing was paying $708 a year for Senja.io to collect and show client testimonials — with their reviews and the whole experience locked inside someone else's tool. I built a custom testimonial system directly into their WordPress site: text and video reviews, an approval workflow, and a branded front-end that does everything Senja did, now fully owned.

The problem

Client reviews were collected and displayed through Senja.io — a third-party SaaS costing $708 every year. The testimonials, the layout and the workflow all lived inside someone else's platform, and the bill renewed whether or not it was worth it.

What I built

A custom testimonial system built into their WordPress site: a full admin to manage text and video reviews, an approval step before anything goes live, and a branded front-end display that matches Poole Marketing's look — a complete replacement for the Senja embed.

The outcome

The client gets the same effortless review-gathering and display they had before, now fully owned and on their own site — and saves $708 every single year with no recurring SaaS fee and no data locked away.

Inside the system

Collect, approve, display — all in one place.

01

Testimonial manager — text and video in one list

A dedicated admin lists every testimonial with the client's photo, a text-or-video badge, star rating and approval status. Reviews can be searched, filtered and bulk-managed — so a growing library of 20+ testimonials stays easy to run.

02

Rich editor — with an approval workflow

Each testimonial has a full editor: client photo, name, role, company and email, plus a choice of text or video display. An "Approved for display" toggle means nothing reaches the site until it's been reviewed — moderation built in, not bolted on.

Branded front-end — the Senja replacement

Approved testimonials render on the live site in Poole Marketing's own dark, on-brand style — video testimonials playing alongside highlighted text reviews. Visitors see the same polished social proof as before, with zero third-party embed.
